His Majesty the King’s participation in 3rd Summit of ‘India-Africa Forum’, Great Value Added, Indian Vice-President

Vice President and Abdelilah Benkirane, Prime Minister of Morocco at Joint Press Statement in Rabat India was very glad to welcome His Majesty King Mohammed VI on the occasion of the 3rd “India-Africa Forum” last October, said, on May 31st 2016 in Rabat, Indian Vice-president, Mr. Mohammad  Hamid Ansari, noting that the sovereign’s participation is a great value added to this event.

India has a huge esteem for His Majesty the King who is the symbol of moderation and rationality, said Mr, Ansari at a joint press briefing with Head of government, Mr. Abdelilah Benkirane following a meeting marked by the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Moroccan Academy for Diplomatic Studies (AMED) and the Indian Institute for Foreign Services, and a program for cultural exchanges over the 2016-2019 period.

Hamid Ansari said he is happy to visit Morocco upon the invitation of the head of government, highlighting the hospitality and warm welcome he was given along with his delegation.

This meeting was an occasion to survey the different aspects of bilateral cooperation, he said, noting that Morocco contributes to India’s food security by supplying phosphates and by-products.

On this occasion, “we insisted on the need to promote our current cooperation and identify new fields of cooperation as ICT, water resources management and vocational training,” he said.

The Indian top official said that his country appreciates Morocco’s support to his country’s candidacy to extend its UNSC mandate.

Mr. Benkirane underlined that Ansari’s visit is a historic and strong moment to express the deep ties between Morocco and India and laud the visit paid His Majesty the King to India which fostered this process.
