His Majesty King Mohammed VI arrives on COP 21 site


HM King Mohammed VI arrives on COP 21 siteHis Majesty King Mohammed VI, accompanied by His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid, arrived Monday late morning on the site of the twenty-first session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Changes (COP21) in Paris.

On his arrival, the Sovereign was welcomed by French President Francois Hollande and UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon.

More than 150 heads of state and government take part in this conference to reach a balanced, ambitious and binding agreement in order to ensure a better future for the planet.

This conference, chaired this year by France, aims at getting states to agree on a new international climate agreement, applicable to all countries to keep global warming below 2 C.

COP 22 will be held in 2016 in Marrakech.
