Working Visit of H.E.Mr. Mohammed Rherras, Secretary of State in charge of Vocational Training, from 20th to 25th May 2019 in New Delhi

H.E.Mr. Mohammed Rherras, Secretary of State in charge of Vocational Training, accompanied by a large delegation of representatives from several ministerial departments, paid a working visit to India from 20th to 25th May 2019 during which he met with Indian officials in charge of vocational training and visited numerous centers and institutes dedicated to this type of education.

The aim of the visit of the Moroccan dignitary to India is to get to know about the Indian experience and expertise in the vocational education sector, its model of governance and the types of relations that exist between the government and the private sector in this regard as well as the lessons that could be drawn and learnt from the Indian system in this area.

The visit falls within the benchmark sought by Morocco with friendly countries like India and took place following the road map presented before His Majesty the King on 4th April 2019. It aims at enhancing the relations of cooperation between Morocco and India and implementing various MoUs signed between the two parties especially in the areas of education and vocational training.

The Africa Day 2019 Celebrations, 25th May 2019 in New Delhi.

The Group of African Heads of Mission in New Delhi celebrated ‘‘the Africa Day 2019’’ on 25th of May, 2019. The reception organized in this regard at the Taj Palace Hotel was attended by the Foreign Secretary of the Indian Ministry of External Affairs, H.E Mr. Vijay Gokhale, as the Chief Guest, Ambassadors / High Commissioners accredited to India, officials from MEA of India, representatives from the Indian business community and the media, as well as all members of the African Missions accredited to India.

The Dean of the African Heads of Mission in New Delhi, the Ambassador of Eritrea felicitated the African Missions and extended his warm regards on this occasion to the officials present from the Indian Ministry of External Affairs who contributed to the organization of this celebration.

For its part, the Foreign Secretary of the Indian Ministry of External Affairs hailed the solid bonds between India and Africa and enumerated various initiatives implemented in favour of the continent.

The Ambassador of His Majesty the King of Morocco to India delivered the vote of thanks in this occasion, in his capacity as Chair of the Protocol Committee, wherein he expressed his gratitude to all those who contributed from near or far to the success of the Africa Day 2019.

The Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in New Delhi organized, on the 16th of March 2019, a luncheon for the benefit of Indian journalists / bloggers to announce the commemoration of a Moroccan Culinary Festival at the Hotel ITC Maurya in Delhi, from the 22nd-31st March, 2019.

In this regards, about forty representatives of the various Indian media took part in this event during which the Ambassador of His Majesty the King of Morocco to the Republic of India, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Maliki, delivered a speech in which he briefed the audience on Moroccan culture, history and cuisine.

The participants at this lunch had the opportunity to taste several varieties of Moroccan dishes prepared by two Moroccan chefs specially invited for this occasion.

Visit of H.E Mr. Moulay Hafid Elalamy, Minister of Industry, Investment, Trade and Digital Economy of the Kingdom of Morocco, to India, from 17th – 20th March, 2019

H.E Mr. Moulay Hafid Elalamy, Minister of Industry, Investment, Trade and Digital Economy of the Kingdom of Morocco, is paying a working visit to India, from 17th – 20th March, 2019, at the invitation of H.E Mr. Suresh Prabhu, Ministre of Commerce, Industry and Civil Aviation.

During his visit to India, H.E Mr. Elalamy will participate in the 14th CII EXIM Bank Conclave on India Africa Project Partnership, scheduled between 17-19 March 2019.

The Minister will also co-chair, the 6th Joint Commission between India and Morocco, to be held on the 20th of March 2019, with his Indian counterpart, H.E Mr. Suresh Prabhu.

During his stay, H.E Mr. Elalamy will hold several meetings with Indian Businessmen to discuss business opportunities in Morocco.

Visit of Her Excellency Mrs. Sushma Swaraj, Minister of External Affairs of the Republic of India on 17th-18th February 2019, to the Kingdom of Morocco

Her Excellency Mrs. Sushma Swaraj, Minister of External Affairs of the Republic of India, paid an official visit to the Kingdom of Morocco on 17th – 18th February 2019.
During this visit Ms. Sushma Swaraj was received in audience by His Excellency Dr. Saad Dine El Otmani, Head of the Government of the Kingdom of Morocco and by His Excellency Mr. Habib El Maliki, the President of Chamber of Representatives, Lower House of Parliament.
Madam Sushma Swaraj also held bilateral talks on a wide range of subjects/topics of common interest with His Excellency Mr. Nasser Bourita, Minister of Foreign Affairs & International Cooperation, after which the two Ministers signed four Memorandas of Understanding relating to Counter Terrorism, Cooperation in Housing and Human Settlement, Reciprocal facilitation of procedures for issue of Business Visa and Cooperation in Youth Matters.
On her arrival to Morocco on 17th February 2019, Madam Sushma Swaraj held a meeting with members of the Indian Diaspora in Morocco.
