Moroccan National Tourism Office launched in New Delhi on 17th September 2018

His Excellency Mr. Mohammed Sajid, Minister of Tourism and Air Transport of the Kingdom of Morocco along with an important delegation, visited India between 16th September to 19th September 2018, to sign Agreements, conduct Bilateral Meetings and launch Moroccan National Tourism Office in New Delhi.The Members of Delegations included Mr. Adel El Fakir, Director General of the Morocco National Tourism Office, Mr. Imad Barakka, Director General of Moroccan Society of Tourism Engineering, Mr. Zakaria Belghazi, Director General of Civil Aviation. Ms. Fatima Zahra Jabri, Head of the Department of Partnership in Royal Air Maroc.
The ceremonial day of Launch began with signing of MoU between India Tourism Development Corporation(ITDC) , the PSU under the aegis of Ministry of Tourism and Moroccan Agency for Tourism Development (SMIT), an autonomous organisation under the Ministry of Tourism, for strengthening cooperation in the field of tourism. This MoU was signed by Ravneet Kaur, chairperson and managing director (CMD), India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) and Imad Barrakad, chairman and CEO, SMIT in the presence of H.E. Mr. K J Alphons, Minister of state (independent charge) for tourism, government of India and H.E. Mr. Mohammed Sajid, at The Ashok, a flagship property of ITDC.
Then, the Minister Mr. Mohammed Sajid along with the members of delegation preceeded to ITC Maurya, wherein the Morocco National Office of Tourism was successfully launched in the presence of Ambassadors from significant countries, Distiguished Guests and important people from Media Fraternity.
Thereafter, a bilateral meeting was held between H.E. Mr. Mohammed Sajid and H.E. Mr. Suresh Prabhu the Union Minister of Commerce and Industry and Civil Aviation to the Republic of India which was followed by signing of Updated Air Services Agreement, which will also be an enabler for greater air connectivity between India and Morocco.
